สมาคมศิษย์เก่า NIDA Business School และธนาคารนครหลวงไทย จำกัด (มหาชน) ร่วมกับหนังสือพิมพ์โพสต์ทูเดย์ ได้รับเกียรติจาก ศาสตราจารย์ คริสเตียน เอช.เอ็ม. เคอร์เทลส์ จากมหาวิทยาลัยฮาร์วาร์ด ซึ่งมีประสบการณ์ในการวางกรอบเชิงกลยุทธ์ด้านการแข่งขันของ ประเทศไทย ร่วมกับศาสตราจารย์ ไมเคิล อี. พอร์เตอร์ ในปี 2546 มาเป็นผู้บรรยายพิเศษ และยังได้รับเกียรติจาก ฯพณฯ อภิสิทธิ์ เวชชาชีวะ นายกรัฐมนตรี มาเปิดงานกล่าวปาฐกถาพิเศษในหัวข้อ “ยุทธศาสตร์ประเทศไทย Thailand Green Strategy”

วัตถุประสงค์
• เพื่อแลกเปลี่ยนและเผยแพร่ความรู้และข้อมูลข่าวสารเกี่ยวกับสถานการณ์ ผลกระทบ ทิศทางการรับตัว และโอกาสของการพัฒนาขีดความสามารถในการแข่งขันของไทย
• เพื่อกระตุ้นเตือนภาครัฐ ภาคเอกชน ภาควิชาการ และภาคประชาชน ให้ทราบถึงความจำเป็นเร่งด่วน ของประเทศไทยในการเพิ่มขีดความสามารถในการแข่งขันของประเทศให้มีความยั่งยืน โดยจะต้องสอดคล้องกับแนวทางการพัฒนาที่ตระหนักถึงผลกระทบของสภาวะโลกร้อนและการอนุรักษ์สิ่งแวดล้อม
• เพื่อนำข้อมูล , ข้อคิดเห็น และข้อสรุปที่ได้ จัดทำเป็นข้อเสนอแนะเพื่อมอบให้แก่ภาครัฐและหน่วยงาน ที่เกี่ยวข้อง เพื่อนำไปเป็นฐานข้อมูลในการปรับปรุงและยกระดับขีดความสามารถในการแข่งขันของไทย
• เพื่อสร้างเครือข่ายด้านข้อมูลและแหล่งความรู้ในการติดตามและประเมินสถานการณ์ด้านขีดความสามารถในการแข่งขันของประเทศ
